Open sided stage & Malaika Arora. What went down in India?

The Mumbai leg of the Brownprint Tour where I had the good fortune of watching the spectacle had a 4 side open concert stage which looked like a boxing ring with the masthead LED’s relaying every single moment. Shinda & AP looked dazzling as ever performing to a crowd that was singing every single song with him and to bring in Malaika Aroras as his guest on stage we reckon was a cool move. The tour was sold out across the country and he announced the Australia leg soon after. I have seen thousands of people, celebrities like Ranveer and Alia, sport stars and fashion / lifestyles creators all love him alike. There are many performers out there taking the punjabi music flag proudly across the world. Few are rising this fast, are as loved, as talked about, as followed and as worshipped as this guy. From a garage to the Billboard chart busters, what a story!

AP Dhillon: A Global Force in Music

AP Dhillon’s rise from Amritsar to becoming a global Punjabi music icon has been nothing short of meteoric. In 2024, Dhillon embarked on a massively successful India tour that drew crowds in the tens of thousands at every stop. Fans were treated to a flawless fusion of modern beats and desi vibes, proving that his music resonates across generations.

But the magic didn’t stop there. Dhillon made waves internationally by being one of the select few global artists invited to the Louis Vuitton Paris showcase, rubbing shoulders with Travis Scott, J Hope and some of the biggest names in pop culture. His effortless charm and crossover appeal showcased the reach of desi talent in global spaces, further solidifying his place as an ambassador of South Asian culture.

And just when fans thought they’d seen it all, Dhillon took to social media to announce his latest project—a highly anticipated collaboration with singer-songwriter Anuv Jain. Known for soulful tracks like Baarishein and Mishri, Jain’s emotive lyricism paired with Dhillon’s unmistakable sound promises to be a sonic masterpiece. The collab is set to release ahead of the Australia tour, ensuring that fans have even more to look forward to.

Why the Brownprint Tour is a Must-Watch

What sets AP Dhillon apart is his ability to connect with his audience, creating music that feels personal yet universal. Whether it’s the prideful swagger of Brown Munde, the heartache in Excuses, or the vibes in Wo Noor, his songs evoke emotion, nostalgia, and joy all at once.

The Brown Print Tour promises to take fans on a journey—not just through Dhillon’s discography, but also through the experience of being part of a global desi movement. The tour symbolizes the rise of South Asian talent on the world stage, breaking stereotypes and inspiring millions. With Dhillon’s electrifying performances, cutting-edge production, and a community of fans who share the same love for Punjabi beats, this tour is more than a concert; it’s a celebration of culture and identity.

"Paaji Pehle Unblock toh karo". Controversies on the Brownprint India Tour.

India had not witnessed this in over a decade, where Karan Aujla, Diljit Dosanjh and AP Dhillon have toured with dates almost one after the other. Diljit faced multiple issues at his concerts, where at times permissions were threatened to be cancelled and he boldly took on everyone with some quirky stage statements. The issue occurred when Diljit asked the crowds to wish all the best to his two brothers who are also touring; Karan and AP. AP wasn’t too pleased, most of you have seen the footage where he said "Paaji, pehle unblock toh karo" Then Diljit shared his gram where he showed he never blocked AP. Badshah tried to calm this down with a cryptic post as well where he said “don’t make the same mistakes we made”. While fans and media world over had a field day with the controversies, we sure hope the boys have their own plans. In an era where each punjabi performer is outperforming the next one, we think it’s a great time for live entertainment. And we plan to watch it front row.

As always we are grateful to AP and team Live Nation to bring this wonderful tour down under. Tag your squad, grab your tickets, and let’s vibe to the sound of Brown Munde!
